Rangel/Waters - The Most Ethical Congress? Isn't Saying Much!
Two powerful Democrats are under investigation for ethics violations. Read AP article "California Rep. Waters may face fall ethics trial" here.
Showing how important ethics violations are to the Democrats, they plan to hold a lavish 80th birthday party for Rangel at the Plaza Hotel in New York next month. Schumer, Gillibrand, Paterson, Cuomo and Bloomberg all plan to attend. It looks like the Dems need to solidify the minority vote. Read The Hill article "Dem leaders, donors to hold Rangel birthday bash at The Plaza" here.

Chevy Volt - A Real Lemon - Obama Sees It As The Wave Of The Future
How disconnected from reality can you get? And how disingenuous can you be with the taxpayers who are paying for this lemon. If this is his justification for bailing out his union buddies, it sure shows he has no business savvy. Toyota already has an electric car in production that goes twice as far on its electric motor and costs thousands of dollars less.
The only advantage I see in the Volt is the fact that after the 40 miles running on the battery, it turns into a premium gas guzzler and recharges itself.
Another item in the article mentions an initial stock offering sometime in the near future. I don't know who would be crazy enough to invest in a unionized car company, owned by the union and the government, both of which have political motivations that are anathema to free enterprise values.
Excerpt: Read NYT Op Ed piece "G.M.'s Electric Lemon" here.

Obama's Mean Streak - Chicago Style
Bringing us all together? The American people expect civility in its elected leaders and Obama's pledge during his campaign to bring us together resonated with the voters. What has happened is a President that is more partisan and mean spirited than any President in modern history. Truth is not his strong point and "ambush" is his middle name. This American Thinker article lists some of his more public offenses.
Excerpt: Barack Obama seems to have a pattern of using ceremonial or stately events as opportunities to ambush and humiliate people. This behavior is unpresidential and reveals a vindictive streak that makes Richard Nixon look like Mister Rogers.
The body count of Obama's ambushes will grow in the years ahead. How does this help to bring about the civility that Obama preaches should be part of our civic discourse? Of course, it doesn't. Hypocrisy is Obama's trademark. His style of ambushing and humiliating people is a sign of something deeper and darker in Obama's psyche, in his emotional makeup. He is vindictive and enjoys the spectacle of belittling people in front of others and in front of cameras.
The milk of human kindness does not flow in this man's veins, but rather something bitterer -- a type of personal poison that he enjoys spraying on others.
This does not dignify the office or the man. But he doesn't seem to care, and the courtier press that covers him with glory doesn't, either. Read Ed Lasky's American Thinker article "Obama's Mean Streak" here.

Will Washington's Failures Lead To Second American Revolution?
This Investors.com article is one that you have got to read. The authors are former Republican administration economic officials who are not mincing their words. They believe that, even if the Republicans gain control of Congress, enough damage has been done, and enough power has been given to Obama, that with his veto power and executive order authority, he can and will purposely destroy the economy as we know it. He is intent on the redistribution of the wealth and the destruction of the Capitalist system. Will Washington's Failures Lead To Second American Revolution?

Kagan - Can This Activist Nominee Be Stopped? Can Our Republic Survive?
Obviously, with the Democrat majority that we have in Congress, any attempt to derail this nomination is a long shot at best. But if the Republicans ever filibustered anything, this lifetime appointment, of a far left activist justice, would be the time. God forbid, if anything happens to one of the Conservative Justices during Obama's tenure, our Republic will cease to exist.
Already, a number of states, most recently Massachusetts, have basically eliminated the Electoral College in their states by assigning ALL electoral votes to the candidate that receives the most votes. That is a change to a Democracy, which our forefathers warned us about. When the Democrats get a majority of our citizen voters onto the dole, you might as well change the name of the Democrat party to the Communist party, since no other party will survive.
Excerpt: As WND reported, dozens of pro-life organizations are already asking the Senate to investigate Kagan's 1997 amendment to an American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists report, which was then used by the Supreme Court as justification for overturning Nebraska's partial-birth abortion ban in 2000.
In her confirmation hearings, Kagan defended the amendment, saying, "My only dealings with (the College) were about talking with them about how to ensure that their statement expressed their views."
Several analyses have concluded, however, that Kagan's amendment dramatically changed the meaning of the organization statement, and court records show the statement was passed off on the Supreme Court as official scientific opinion, even though the organization's panel of scientists never approved Kagan's wording.
Klayman told WND he believes Kagan's behind-the-scenes work constitutes "conspiracy to defraud the Supreme Court," and he intends to take the evidence that has been compiled by the pro-life groups to file a complaint before the clerk's office of the U.S. Supreme Court, seeking to have Kagan disbarred as a practicing lawyer in front of the Supreme Court.

The Amnesty Memo - Are They Planning To Defy Congress?
A USCIS memo obtained by the National Review sets forth a number of enforcement policies that would, in effect. create de facto amnesty for millions of illegals. By selectively enforcing the immigration laws, the Obama administration is snubbing its nose at a Congress that should be concerned that they are becoming irrelevant.
In any event, it is obvious that Obama intends to award citizenship to the 13 million illegals as soon as he can, in order to shore up his dwindling majority. Read the National Review article here.

Left Admits: Racism Charges Against Tea Parties a Tactic, Not a Truth
I don't think they are fooling anyone with half a brain. But then there are a number of citizens that watch the MSM.
Excerpt: Former U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Chairman Mary Frances Berry, a long-time prominent liberal activist, has admitted in an interview with Politico that the left is trying to smear the tea party movement as "racist" for strategic reasons, not out of genuine concern that the movement is itself racist.
Berry called the tactic an "effective strategy" and chose not to denounce it. Read article here.

Anti-Illegal Immigration Group Calls for 'Safe Passage' of Illegals Out of U.S.

Key parts of Arizona anti-immigration law blocked
This ruling is difficult to understand. It seems that the only people that can be arrested under what remains of the law are US citizens looking for workers, which would not be a problem if the illegals were not here.
When I got fined 35 years ago for not having my drivers license with me, I guess if I had been an illegal, I would have gotten off scott free. Probably not, because 35 years ago the laws meant something. Now all you need is a liberal cause and the laws can be manipulated by the unending succession of liberal judgeships bestowed by Democrats and the Republicans who are afraid to challenge the liberal Congress.
The judge worries that the Federal Government will be unnecessarily burdened by the requests by the state for information and redirect the Feds away from their priorities. If the Feds priority was to enforce Federal immigration law, there wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, their priority has been to bring in as many Democrat voters as possible to preserve power for the Democrats. And on the Republican side, they didn't want to rock the boat and anger a significant potion of the Hispanic electorate. Wake up Republicans, few Hispanics vote for you.
Excerpt: The provisions blocked by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton included one requiring a police officer to determine the immigration status of a person detained or arrested if the officer believed the person was not in the country legally.
Bolton also halted provisions requiring immigrants to carry their papers at all times and making it illegal for people without proper documents to tout for work in public places.
Bolton kept some parts of the law, including provisions making it illegal for drivers to pick up day laborers off the street and to transport or harbor an illegal immigrant. Read Reuters article "Key parts of Arizona anti-immigration law blocked" here.

Reid Energy Bill - Gives Up on Cap & Tax - For Time Being
Some say he is only postponing the Cap & Tax until after the elections.
FOX News Article: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is introducing energy and oil spill legislation after deciding to give up on a broader bill that would cap greenhouse gases blamed for global warming.
The new bill being unveiled Tuesday has more modest goals like encouraging heavy duty trucks to use natural gas and cars to use electricity. It also has provisions aimed at improving oil spill responses and holding spillers accountable, and increasing funding for the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund.
The bill does not include a renewable electricity standard, despite a last-minute push by some senators, businesses and clean energy advocates. Such a standard would require utilities to produce a certain percentage of their energy from renewable sources. Go to FOX News here.

VAT Here We Come - Obama Commission Will Call for Trillions in Tax Hikes
The Congress is not satisfied with controlling 1/6th or 1/2 of the economy, they want it all. Spending cuts should be quick and deep and taxes should also be cut. Then the economy will rebound and the increased revenues, with the decreased spending and elimination of some entitlements, will create the surplus needed to reduce the debt. The liberals treat the economy as a zero sum game, which it is not. A robust economy will bring us out of the doldrums. I know it sounds radical, but higher taxes have never created an economic upturn.
Excerpt: "It's been clear from the beginning that the purpose of this Commission was to put GOP fingerprints on a tax hike, likely a VAT... Gregg seems to be giving them all ten fingers... The true agenda of this commission has always been to hide the ball on a tax hike until after the November elections - hence the December reporting date. Gregg's gaffe today tips their hand,"
Higher taxes are never the answer. With the economy so weak, Congress should be making the Bush tax cuts permanent. Taxes on capital formation and investment should be eliminated all together. America should be encouraging small business, individual investors and entrepreneurs to be taking risks to increase economic growth in the private sector. Instead, Obama and the socialists in Congress are embarked on a dangerous expedition to punish success. This will end badly. Read full Townhall article here.

Magical Thinkers in Washington - ObamaCare
M.D. Deane Waldman's article in The American Thinker runs down some of the provisions of ObamaCare and likens them to the belief that one can fly if only one dons a cape. Liberals say it is so, so it must be so. Interesting article! Excerpt: HR 3590 must have been magical thinking by the Democrats and the White House. How else can they call themselves representatives of the American people while passing a bill that more than 50% of the population opposed, and without a single Republican vote in either House? The only explanation, other than magical thinking, would be hubris raised to Olympic levels, and we can't have that!
Magical thinking by children can harm them. Magical thinking by Washington can kill us. Those with power in Washington are not children, but they think like children -- magically -- and ignore mountains of evidence.
We tolerate magical thinking by children; that is part of childhood. Why do we tolerate such behavior in our "representatives" in Washington and the White House? Read article here.

How Smart Are We? By Thomas Sowell
Outside of the major metropolitan areas where the so called "elite" tend to congregate, there is a whole country full of "ordinary" people who know how to get things done, who don't need someone in Washington telling them how to live their lives. As Thomas Sowell says, they don't rely on brilliance, they rely on common sense, experience and trial and error. As he says, no one is "brilliant" enough to solve all problems for everyone.
Excerpt: What is remarkable is that, after a few decades of experience with central planning in some countries, or a few generations in others, even communists and socialists began to repudiate this approach.
As they replaced central planning with more reliance on markets, their countries' economic growth rate almost invariably increased, often dramatically. In the largest and most recent examples-- China and India-- people by the millions have risen above these countries' official poverty rates, after they freed their economies from many of their suffocating government controls.
China, where famines have repeatedly ravaged the country, now has a problem of obesity-- not a good thing in itself, but a big improvement over famines.
This has implications far beyond economics. Think about it: How was it even possible that transferring decisions from elites with more education, intellect, data and power to ordinary people could lead consistently to demonstrably better results?
One implication is that no one is smart enough to carry out social engineering, whether in the economy or in other areas where the results may not always be so easily quantifiable. We learn, not from our initial brilliance, but from trial and error adjustments to events as they unfold.
Science tells us that the human brain reaches its maximum potential in early adulthood. Why then are young adults so seldom capable of doing what people with more years of experience can do?
Because experience trumps brilliance.
Elites may have more brilliance, but those who make decisions for society as a whole cannot possibly have as much experience as the millions of people whose decisions they preempt. The education and intellects of the elites may lead them to have more sweeping presumptions, but that just makes them more dangerous to the freedom, as well as the well-being, of the people as a whole. Read TownHall article here.

Communism Goals in 1963 - US Is Halfway There
One of my facebook friends posted this list of Communist goals in 1963 and referred to #17 & #18 as being a done deal. Because of the end of the Cold War and the breakup of the USSR, some of the goals on the list no longer apply, but I have highlighted the ones that I believe are well on their way to being accomplished by the end of the Obama tenure.
Communist Goals (1963)
Documention below
Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35
January 10, 1963
Current Communist Goals
EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Thursday, January 10, 1963
Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.
At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen:
[From "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen]
CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS
1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.
(Obama administration only)
4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.
9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.) (Obama's goal)
12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
13. Do away with all loyalty oaths. (In process)
14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
18. Gain control of all student newspapers. (In process)
19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack. (In process)
20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions. (MSM getting close)
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
(Michael Moore anyone?)
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms." (Never did like that modern art)
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art." (Have you been to MOMA recently?)
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press. (How about that XXX domain?)
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV. (At least most of the covers are "covered" at the newsstand)
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy." (A given if you are a liberal)
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch." (Obama's Muslim schooling doesn't emphasize the Bible) (All of us conservative religious fanatics)
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state." (Done deal)
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis. (Progressive mantra and 4 out of 9 of the members of SCOTUS believe this)
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man." (Just ask Glenn Beck)
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over. (Another thing to ask Glenn Beck)
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc. (Gotcha!)
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities. (Eliminated in 1975)
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions. (SEIU anyone?)
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat]. (DYFS in NJ)
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce. (Done)
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents. (Need a Village?)
42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems. (Liberals and SEIU and ACORN YES, Tea Party NO!)
43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
44. Internationalize the Panama Canal. (In 1977, Jimmy Peanut gave it back to Panama)

Clean-Up Crews Can't Find BP Crude in the Gulf
GOOD NEWS - ABC reports today that the BP crews and skimmers are having trouble finding oil to cleanup. Theories are that either the oil has gone under the surface or "mother nature" is doing her job. We can only hope that the latter is the answer. Read the ABC article "BP Oil Spill: Clean-Up Crews Can't Find Crude in the Gulf" here.

Three-Quarters of Congressmen Support Auditing the Federal Reserve, so Why Isn't It Law?
Barney Frank is at it again. If we do not get rid of Barney and Chris Dodd, this country's economy will not survive. Barney has the power to flaunt the will of 73% of the House. This is too much power vested in one person, especially an ideologue like Barney.
The necessity for an audit of the Fed is highlighted in an article in the American Spectator that I commented on,America's Ruling Class. The question is who is running America, the people, the government or the "Ruling Class". The Fed is a major part of that "Class" and has been shielded from all government oversight.
Excerpt: H.R. 1207 has been assigned to the Subcommittee on House Financial Services -- the same committee that brought us the banking disaster which nearly crashed the economy in 2008. Barney Frank (D-MA), as the chair of the committee, has simply decided to ignore consideration of the bill and let it die by inactivity, a.k.a. pigeonholing. Since Frank sets the schedule for the committee, he has the power to exercise a veto on the proposed law -- a veto that cannot be overridden, bypassed, or otherwise circumvented. Essentially, Frank, like all committee chairs, can decide on his own to kill bills referred to his committee that he doesn't like -- and he clearly dislikes H.R. 1207. Since this is a familiar game played in Washington by both parties with dozens of bills, the question might be, "Why should we care about this specific bill so much?"
Thomas Jefferson was clear on a number of occasions about what he thought of the concept of a private bank issuing the currency of the land. As president, in an 1802 letter to Albert Gallatin, the longest-serving Secretary of the treasury, Jefferson said,
If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.
Our representatives in Congress have no power to alter the interest rate, alter the circulation of currency, or change the amount that can be loaned to a local bank. It is all the purview of the Federal Reserve, decided by its Board of Governors. The stereotypical image of a few people sitting in a room deciding the fate of the economic world is fact in the Federal Reserve. Congress has no power to dismiss a member of the Federal Reserve Board, revert a bad decision, or apply any other check. The economic lives of the people of the USA are controlled by the Federal Reserve, and there is nothing they can do about it -- no one to vote out and no powers of judicial review. If the Fed decides tomorrow to jack interest rates up to 30%, no one can stop them.
The mere existence of such an all-powerful organization in our government should be disturbing to any freedom-loving person. We debate over politicians and tax rates until the moon turns blue, yet this one organization has omnipotent control over the economy, and yet it is far from transparent. It is essential to at least allow the government to audit the Federal Reserve. It is essential to the free market and the survival of the republic that one agency, and its bureaucrats, not be allowed to have unchecked and unsupervised control over the economy. In sworn testimony before Congress, Thomas E. Woods, Jr. asks, "Opponents of HR 1207 have sometimes tried to claim that the Fed is already adequately audited. If this were true, why is the Fed in panic mode over this bill?"
And he goes on to ask,
[I]f our monetary system were really as strong, robust, and beyond criticism as its cheerleaders claim, why does it need to rely so heavily on public ignorance? How can it be a sound banking system that depends on keeping the public in the dark about the condition of its financial institutions?
Despite the fact that that it seems that nearly three-quarters of the House agrees with him, it looks like the legislation needed to get to the truth will die an untimely death in committee, and once again, the Federal Reserve will have dodged the sword of accountability. Read American Thinker article "Three-Quarters of Congressmen Support Auditing the Federal Reserve, so Why Isn't It Law?" here.

Britain Plans to Decentralize Health Care
Evidently, the current centralized system is not working and they are looking to decentralize. The article points out that no one knows whether the plan will work but that something has to be done to reduce costs and increase choice and effectiveness. It is too bad, we here in the US, because of the liberal power grab, will have to suffer through years of bureaucratic nonsense before sanity takes over. NASA's Deep Space Camera Locates Host of 'Earths'
Out of 100 million habitable planets, maybe someone out there looks like me. Don't know if there is room in the galaxy for two of us.
Excerpt: “The figures suggest our galaxy, the Milky Way [which has more than 100 billion stars] will contain 100 million habitable planets, and soon we will be identifying the first of them,” said Dimitar Sasselov, professor of astronomy at Harvard University and a scientist on the Kepler Mission. "There is a lot more work we need to do with this, but the statistical result is loud and clear, and it is that planets like our own Earth are out there." Read full article here.

Top ten reasons Obama’s poll numbers are low
Article: In case you haven’t heard, President Barack Obama’s poll numbers are down. Way down. For example, 54% of the country thinks he’s doing a lousy job on the economy.
This has left the leftist media scrambling. Why are the President’s numbers so low when they’ve done all the could to get him elected and prop him up?
Fortunately, speculation is one thing the mainstream media is good at. Obama’s poll numbers are down because Americans are spoiled little brats. Or, because he hasn’t blamed Bush enough.
But there have to be other reasons. Which leads directly to our top ten reasons why Obama’s poll numbers are in the basement:
10. Hillary Clinton badmouths Obama at UN every chance she gets.
9. Hollywood celebs refuse to take pollsters’ calls.
8. Bush, Trilateral Commission, and Skull & Bones continue to rig votes at Gallop.
7. One word: white people are Racist with a capital R.
6. Obama’s hypnotic stare now known as just the way he looks when he reads the teleprompter.
5. Did we mention, “RACISM.”
4. Recovery Summer postponed due to oily beaches.
3. Lady Gaga’s failure to appear at White House office party has supporters miffed.
2. Years of poor public education resulted in miseducation. Wait a minute. Scratch that. Teachers unions are on Obama’s side.
1. Near monopoly of pro-Obama media is not total monopoly.

Yes, A Period of Consequences The time for evasion is over. BY WILLIAM KRISTOL
Liberalism has its consequences as does spending by centrist politicians on both sides of the aisle. William Kristol's article says that now is that time. Read it in the Weekly Standard here.
Repeal the CLASS Act Now - New Entitlement Is Long Term Disaster
The CLASS Act was attached to ObamaCare to provide an entitlement plan for individual long term care. Described as a Ponzi scheme even by some Democrats, this bill was used to reduce the ObamaCare deficit while in negotiations, even though, in the long term, CLASS creates huge deficits. Bernie Madoff is in jail. Why are't those that voted for this monstrosity in there with him?
Excerpt: Stopping a Mistake Before It Starts
The history of federal entitlement programs provides a cautionary lesson. With a few exceptions, once a federal entitlement is started, it has been extremely difficult to reverse course. Citizens who participate in the program become strongly invested in its continuation, and politicians are not eager to be accused of reneging on a government promise.
So even if CLASS is widely seen as structurally unsound in future years, Congress may very well find it difficult to cut off enrollment if a large number of people have already signed up for it and are receiving or expecting to receive its benefits.
Consequently, the most prudent step is for Congress to repeal the CLASS Act before any enrollment has started. Under the terms of the new law, the program could begin accepting enrollments as early as January 2011, but it now seems more likely that the program will not launch until regulations give it more definition, perhaps several months later. Regardless, it would be far preferable to reverse course on CLASS before the program builds momentum toward implementation. Read "The CLASS Act: Repeal Now, or Face Permanent Taxpayer Bailout Later" here.

North Korea vows 'physical response' to US exercise
Having served a year in Seoul while in the Army in the 60's, this article in BBC News is of interest. While the North Koreans are unpredictable, I do not believe they are stupid and I agree with the analysis below.
Excerpt: North Korea has promised a "physical response" to joint US-South Korean military exercises this weekend.
Analysis by John Sudworth, BBC News, Seoul
It is unclear, of course, how carefully the North Korean spokesman weighed his words before unleashing his latest verbal broadside. But the talk of a "physical response", if taken at face value, seems troubling.
Angry rhetoric from North Korea is nothing new - it serves both a domestic political purpose, keeping the enemy constantly in the forefront of its citizens' minds, and an external one, by raising tension when Pyongyang believes it is in its interests to do so.
At times the language turns flamboyant, even poetic. So it is difficult to know what to make of the latest, threatened "physical response", but on past form, it probably should not be taken at face value. Read BBC article "North Korea vows 'physical response' to US exercise" here.

Misleading CBS Headline - Obama On Paying For Benefits
When I saw this headline Obama Changes Tune on Paying for Unemployment Benefits Extension on Drudge, I thought that, finally, Obama was coming to his senses about the deficit and that the unemployment extension and all added pork would be funded by cuts in other expenditures.
My hopes were dashed after reading the article and finding that, he was not funding the bill, he just flip flopped from the previous extension, where he bragged about it being funded. I'm sure CBS knows that many people just read headlines and, therefore go away happy but misinformed. Don't you just love our liberal press?

Rangel charged with multiple ethics violations
The case of Charles Rangel, former Chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, after two years, was finally voted out of committee. After negotiations broke down, he was finally charged with multiple ethics violations, violations which a common citizen would have most likely be behind bars by now. As everything regarding ethics happens slowly in Congress, the committee, that has been working on the case for two years, has referred it to an 8 member House panel to determine guilt.
Just another day in the life of a Congress that has an 11% "great deal or quite a lot" approval rating. Read MSNBC article "Rangel charged with multiple ethics violations" here.

Drones in U.S. skies – to keep eye on us?
The warning by James Madison below gives me cause for alarm and has, in my mind, elevated this seemingly minor article, to an item of interest. Using drones and "eyes in the sky" for military purposes appears to be a logical and legal use. However, use of drones to spy on your own citizens may be a concern. Challenges have been made against Google Earth Street Views, surveillance cameras on streets, and now drones are in question. Can 1984 be far behind? James Madison would probably be concerned.
Excerpt: Will we citizens have any say in whether we want to be part of this continually omnivorous government game? Whitehead gives you the answer: "Unfortunately, to a drone, everyone is a suspect because drone technology makes no distinction between the law-abiding individual and the suspect. Everyone gets monitored, photographed, tracked and targeted."
But not terminally targeted like the innocent civilians during Predator and Reaper strikes in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Yemen. However, the Obama administration has made it clear that, like its predecessor, it has decided the battlefield against terrorism can be anywhere – including the United States.
And should there be another 9/11 or a successful suicide bomber in New York's Times Square, the government – with its ever-increasing, undeniable evidence of homegrown jihadists (who look just like your neighbors) may use UAVs not only for surveillance but in the self-defense of us all. Drones have already committed extra-judicial killings outside our borders. Are we immune at home?
Whitehead summons James Madison: "A standing military force with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defense against foreign danger have been always the instruments of tyranny at home." Are the drones to remain beyond the American rule of law? It's past time to begin to find out.
So far, we are told nothing credible of whom we are targeting, and why, in other countries. We should at least be let in on the rules of this grim game as it may affect our own fate. Failing our responsibility as citizens, we have become almost entirely complicit in the extent and depth of our being continually surveilled at home outside the Constitution.
Will drones continue to hover outside the Constitution? Barack Obama knows. World Net Daily article "Drones in U.S. skies – to keep eye on us?"

Congress Ranks Last in Confidence in Institutions
You would hope that Congress and the President would get the message and change their socialist agenda. What amazes me is the relative high rating Obama still gets after reversing himself on almost all of his centrist campaign promises and pushing his obvious socialist policies.
Excerpt: PRINCETON, NJ -- Gallup's 2010 Confidence in Institutions poll finds Congress ranking dead last out of the 16 institutions rated this year. Eleven percent of Americans say they have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in Congress, down from 17% in 2009 and a percentage point lower than the previous low for Congress, recorded in 2008.
The Gallup poll was conducted July 8-11, shortly before Congress passed a major financial regulatory reform bill, which President Obama signed into law this week.
Underscoring Congress' image problem, half of Americans now say they have "very little" or no confidence in Congress, up from 38% in 2009 -- and the highest for any institution since Gallup first asked this question in 1973. Previous near-50% readings include 48% found for the presidency in 2008, and 49% for the criminal justice system in 1994.
This year's poll also finds a 15-point drop in high confidence in the presidency, to 36% from 51% in June 2009. Over the same period, President Barack Obama's approval rating fell by 11 points, from 58% to 47%. However, confidence in the presidency remains higher than in 2008 -- the last year of George W. Bush's term -- when the figure was 26%.
Congress Ranks Last in Confidence in Institutions

President Haters
Who will be Obama's, William Burroughs, the man who spewed his hatred towards FDR in writing. My guess is, we will be inundated by people who will write unkindly about him; the only question is, who will win the notoriety prize?
Excerpt: But there was one element of Burroughs' thought not altogether alien to conservatives: his opinion of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Relatively late in his career, Burroughs published a short piece titled Roosevelt after Inauguration, which featured FDR swaggering around Washington (this is fiction, remember), wearing a purple toga and accompanied by a gang of killer baboons whom he sends after his enemies. The story climaxes with the massacre of the Supreme Court by the baboons, whereupon FDR gazes contemplatively across the Potomac at the country now lying at his feet and utters the line quoted above.
What inspired Burroughs to embark on this exercise in nastiness remains unclear. He himself claimed that he was promised a high position in the St. Louis sewer department only to be denied it by New Deal do-gooders, but this may be only part of the legend. Whatever the case, Roosevelt after Inauguration remains one of the purest expressions of political hatred ever put into writing. If every foul attack made over the years against Nixon, Reagan, Gingrich, Bush, Cheney, and Palin were rolled into one, the result would not match a single paragraph. Roosevelt after Inauguration is a masterpiece of political scurrility.
Which brings us to Barack Obama.
Two weeks ago, the White House informed the state of Oklahoma that it could expect no federal aid to help deal with the damage caused by recent flooding. There was no explanation, no expression of sympathy, no offer of alternatives.
Last week, it was revealed that NASA's new mission will be centered on making Muslims "feel good" about their scientific achievements of roughly a millennium in the past. This comes right on the heels of the cancellation of the Constellation program, which employed tens of thousands and promised to put the U.S. back into space in a big way.
At roughly the same time, J. Christian Adams, a former Department of Justice attorney, revealed that the voter harassment case against the New Black Panthers had been dropped for purely racist reasons, and that the word had come down to "never bring another lawsuit against a black or other national minority, no matter what they do."
While this doesn't match killer baboons, it'll do until Obama gets his pack trained.
Consider these actions. If anyone during the 2008 elections had implied, or even speculated, that Obama was capable of anything of the sort, he'd have been dismissed as a demagogue, a hater, even a lunatic. But today, after his abandonment of the state of Tennessee (also wracked by flooding); his betrayal of the Georgians; his pulling the rug out from under the Poles and Czechs; his dragging and cold response to the Gulf blowout; and his insults to the U.K., the GOP, the Supreme Court, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Dalai Lama, it scarcely raises a shrug. That's Obama. That's how he acts -- with arrogance, superciliousness, and indifference. We can search the entire roster of American presidents, and we will not find a match. This is not the behavior of an elected chief executive; it's the conduct of a divine right monarch, and a pretty inadequate one as well.
Conduct of this sort inevitably produces a reaction -- contempt from equals and hatred from victims. Obama has created a lot of victims in eighteen months of power, and that reaction has been growing. In plain fact, Obama is on his way to becoming the most hated president of the modern epoch. More so than Roosevelt, more so than Nixon, more so than Bush -- keep in mind that W. was truly hated only by the hard left. Read American Thinker article "President Haters" here.

Republicans Need A More Definitive "Contract From America"
Arnold Ahlert's article "Go For Broke Or Get Out of the Way", states the need for a new Contract With America. There is one that many Republicans have signed on to, but in reading it, you get the feeling that they just went through the motions to say they had something. Three or four of the 10 items deal with fiscal responsibility, a couple relate to taxes, health care is mentioned as a repeal and revise with no specifics.
I would like to see some mention of tort reform, and an adoption of Paul
Ryan's Roadmap for America. Certainly someone can come up with something with more zing than this.

Growing Number of Prosecutions for Videotaping the Police
I support our police and believe they do a great job. However, as in any occupation, there are some bad apples and problems can arise during encounters with them. Civil rights should not be for the police only. They use cameras to record stops for their protection, citizens should have the same rights. Firms cancel health coverage - The Boston Globe
The migration away from private health care plans has begun in Massachusetts as an omen for ObamaCare. Massachusetts relied on the old idea of "deny cost increases" as the answer to controlling health care costs. All this does is create a situation where private insurance companies cannot afford to continue in business. True cost control, such as tort reform, and higher deductibles, are not part of the Mass. bill or ObamaCare.
Since Government does not have to stay on a strict budget as business and all of us do, they have no incentive or idea how to control costs.
Repeal the bill.

Changing Tune, Administration Defends Insurance Mandate as a Tax - NYTimes.com
Now the Justice Department is saying the health care bill is a tax, despite Obama's and Congress's claim that it was not a tax when the bill was being promoted. I guess that through the taxing authority and the general welfare clause, the government can take away all our liberties. Only the Supreme Court stands in their way and, because we have been governed by progressives for so long, the court is a question mark for any Constitutional challenge.

America's Ruling Class -- And the Perils of Revolution By Angelo M. Codevilla
This American Spectator article is an in depth look at the development of the "ruling class" and the takeover of our country by the progressive movement. The "ruling class", as defined, is not necessarily those at the head of Government. The author specifically points out that Ronald Reagan was not part of the class and was the best chance we have had in a long time to stem the progressive tide.
Through regulations and our education system, the "ruling class' has eroded many of our Constitutional rights and, in so doing, has made it more difficult for us to regain our freedoms.
Read the article here. It will keep you awake tonight.

Paul Driessen: It's Really About Controlling Our Lives
What are you going to do when gasoline is $7.50 per gallon and it takes $112.50 to fill your tank? What will you do when your electric bill doubles? Since everything uses energy to produce, what are you going to do when the price of "everything" skyrockets? What will you do if you are one of the 4.5 million workers that will lose their jobs due to this bill?
If you listen to the liberals with Obama in the forefront, they don't care! It is necessary to reduce everyone's standard of living to save the planet. The only problem is, the science that this is based on is suspect. Too much carbon dioxide they say. Yet, from the beginning of time the earth has handled the CO2 that all creatures breath out, by using it to nourish our forests and grasslands. It is a necessary component for our life here on earth.
We have the resources right here in the USA to become energy independent through the use of coal, known oil reserves, nuclear energy, solar, wind, tidal and bio. The liberal agenda will not let us tap these reserves because it will prevent them from completing their total control of our lives. After all, as the article says: "Either Mr. Reid’s cadre doesn’t understand these basic facts – or they are so blinded by power, ambition, ideology and desire to control that they willfully ignore them."
Excerpt: The EPA, Energy Information Administration, White House and Mr. Reid insist that America can easily limit hydrocarbon use and switch to “eco-friendly” wind, solar and biofuel energy – at low cost and minimal harm to families, businesses and jobs. However, their self-serving, other-planet claims are flatly contradicted by a host of studies by reputable analysts with a solid history of integrity and accuracy.
The most recent is a June 17 report by Charles River Associates, examining the “Economic and Energy Impacts Resulting from a National Low Carbon Fuel Standard.” Prepared for the Consumer Energy Alliance, the study looked only at transportation fuels. (Including coal for electricity generation and other uses would dramatically increase its cost estimates.) Nevertheless, the study found that national standards implemented in 2015 would:
* Increase average gasoline and diesel prices by up to 80% in five years, and 170% within ten years – sending regular gasoline prices soaring to nearly $5 per gallon by 2020 and $7.50 per gallon by 2025 (assuming other international price pressures remain unchanged);
* Spur sharp cost increases for petrochemicals in plastics, pharmaceuticals and other vital products;
* Reduce employment and consumer demand significantly, by increasing the cost of transporting people, equipment, supplies, raw materials, food and finished products – for work, school, healthcare, business, manufacturing, vacation and other purposes;
* Cut business investment by $200-320 billion annually, compared to the no-LCFS baseline;
* Slash gross domestic product by $410-750 billion annually by 2025;
* Cost 2.3 million to 4.5 million American jobs, including up to 1.5 million in manufacturing and 3.0 million in the service sector; and
* Force household purchasing power downward by $1,400 to $2,400 for a family of four by 2025 – impacting minority, elderly and other low and fixed income families worst of all.
None of this should be surprising. As President Obama himself has said, the very purpose of energy and climate policies like LCFS is to ensure that prices “necessarily skyrocket.” It is to force people to use less fuel, compel companies to change power generation and use practices, drive coal companies and utilities out of business, and force the development of new fuels and technologies that may or may not work.

Reuters Article - A Puff Piece for Obama
The article fails to mention that Bush had a Democrat Congress the last two years of his term and they are the ones who authorize spending. Also, the whole housing bubble that started in the Clinton years, and helped to create Clinton's surplus, was a sham created by the Democrats promoting mortgages for those that could not afford them. This, through Fannie and Freddie, came crashing down at the end of Bush's term and was a much greater cause of the collapse than the derivatives that Obama is so quick to attack.
Notice the Democrats are not slowing down on the unsustainable mortgages, nor did they include Fannie or Freddie in their Financial Regulation bill, written by none other than Dodd and Frank, the original architects of the collapse.

List of Czars Including New "Health Food Czar"
"In a comical move even for a czar-happy president who has rewarded dozens of cronies with distinguished titles, the White House has named the Obamas' personal Chicago cook as 'Senior Policy Adviser for Healthy Food Initiatives," This is the take of World News Daily in their article about the newest Czar.
I don't believe this health food campaign by Michelle Obama is all bad as long as it remains an educational endeavor. However, with the new revelations about the ObamaCare bill requiring an addition of the BMI (body mass index) to the new medical database on all Americans, it will be only a matter of time that certain foods are removed from the shelves (look at SF and LA) and you are told what to eat. I'm very strange in that I believe it is my Constitutional right to eat what I want. Read about the czars here.

Major Provisions of the Financial Overhaul Bill
You can see the AP summary of the major provisions of the Financial Overhaul bill here. The one thing certain is that the government will get bigger and intrusion into business will be immense.
Left out of the AP summary are the goodies the Democrats are giving to the unions and minorities in order to secure their votes in the next election. Those you can read about here.

When you read this article, Kagan's answers to Congress appear to skirt around the issue and her answers were guarded. If she is in the ilk the same as Obama, then, even her responses mean very little.

Bye, Bye Oil Rig! And Jobs!
This article by Charlotte Hays at the Independent Women's Forum cites the first move of an oil rig from US waters. Obama is killing our ability to become energy independent with his childlike behavior. As Ms. Hays says, this will not be the last rig to go since the rig operators stand to lose millions of dollars during the moratorium.
Obama's march to destroy our economy is, to me, beginning to look intentional. Either that or he is totally out of touch with reality.
The Houston Post reports that Diamond Offshore is moving its Ocean Endeavor drilling rig from the Gulf of Mexico to Egyptian waters immediately. It's the first to leave the Gulf of Mexico in the wake of the Obama threats of a moratorium on offshore drilling. It won't be the last.
Ocean Endeavor CEO Larry Dickerson was quoted:
"As a result of the uncertainties surrounding the offshore drilling moratorium, we are actively seeking international opportunities to keep our rigs fully employed," Dickerson said. "We greatly regret the loss of U.S. jobs that will result from this rig relocation."
I opined in a post below that the administration might run out of people making more than $200,000 to tax. We might also run out of oil rigs to provide jobs and, well, oil.
Rod Pennington noted yesterday:
This morning on Fox News Sunday, presidential advisor David Axelrod submited his nomination for understament of the year. "These are rented rigs and they go from place to place, it's not an optimal situation."
No, Mr. Axelrod, it's not optimal. We need those oil rigs, and the administration of which you are a part appears sublimely unaware of the economic consequences of its childlike policies.
Pennington also notes the president's involvement:
President Obama was unavailable for comment. Despite vowing, "We will not rest until this crisis is solved," he was on his third family vacation in the 13 weeks since the oil spill began on April 20th. Bye, Bye Oil Rig!

Farm Jobs Being Lost - Colombia Trade Agreement Not Submitted For Ratification
$2.8 billion in tariffs paid by American business needlessly because trade agreement, signed three years ago with Colombia, has not been submitted by Obama to Congress for ratification.
Canada and other nations that signed agreements with Colombia after the US, are busy dividing, among themselves, our share of the market there.
This article says that an estimated $700 million in agriculture exports and 14,000 jobs have been lost.

Common Sense in Education Strikes Again
In today's world, it is imperative that our children become computer literate at an early age, but that should not be at the cost of the three Rs, Reading, Riting and Rithmatic. Obama has appropriated over $1 billion of your tax dollars to provide broadband to rural areas, the purpose of which is to help rural children compete in the world of education. This seems like a lot of money, knowing that it will only increase borrowing and the deficit, but many billions of dollars have been spent in the last year on more wasteful things.
A recent study points out that maybe providing broadband access to the rural areas will not have the effect Obama is predicting. Maybe there will be more "unintended consequences" and, instead of reading and studying, the kids will be playing video games.
The author of this Townhall article believes the cost of the study could have been saved, since every parent of school age children already knew the answer.

Media Moguls Skeptical About Obama, Economy - The Daily Beast
Media moguls met in Sun Valley last week to discuss the economy. What came out of the meeting cannot be music to Obama's ears. Although most of those in attendance are Obama supporters, few had good words to say about his economic policies and results.
Excerpt: While most of the moguls understand that President Obama inherited a financial crisis without precedent, they also note that his administration’s heavy-handed rhetoric has positioned it, from a corporate-relations perspective, as anti-business. That sentiment was palpable among the executives at Sun Valley, even though none of them would say so on-the-record (this was a media-savvy crowd, after all). When asked if he thought the administration was anti-business, Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes smiled silently for a few seconds, then said, “I think it’s time for a glass of wine.” News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch, who is never shy to voice his opinion on world leaders, said “definitely not” when asked to comment on President Obama’s relationship with corporate America. And while Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei fielded questions from the media for a good 10 minutes by the Duck Pond on the conference’s first day, the only one in which he declined comment was about whether the administration was anti-business or not.

“I do think the administration will blame business for things too quickly,” said a brave Peter Chernin, the former News Corp. chief operating officer and heavy Democratic donor. “I don’t think they are anti-business, it’s more nuanced than that, but they appear that way because they jump too quickly on the bandwagon.”
So bad is the administration’s current relationship with corporate America that even the typically Democratic-leaning media moguls are suggesting that the independent electorate is unsettled enough to tilt the upcoming November elections in favor of the Republicans. In fact, that was the hope of one cynical mogul looking to jumpstart his business.
“I hope there’s more gridlock so that business could get on with what it wants to do rather than being interfered with,” said this source.
Republican Prospects Surging?
It appears the polls are showing that Republican candidates are doing well throughout the country for the House and Senate races. It appears that both houses are now in contention.
Now is not the time to get complacent. From what I see down here in SC, people are just sitting back and taking a breather, but have not forgotten. Here's hoping that there are no "no show" conservatives in November.

Fighting Election Fraud
There are indications that a number of close elections last November were subject to voter fraud. Last year a number of states prosecuted ACORN employees for registration fraud. Now is not the time to sit back, bury your head in the sand, and hope for a fair election. This article in the American Thinker is written by a conservative activist in Wisconsin who took the challenge with others and defined what the individual citizen could do to help insure a fair election in your hometown. Hezbollah terrorists are plotting right on the U.S. border
It is ridiculous for the Democrats to say our borders are secure when millions of Mexicans travel across them illegally each year. Our border patrol has statistics that show they have captured over 500 Arabs crossing the Southern border with Mexico. Who knows how many were not caught?
Now information is coming from Tijuana, Mexico, just across the border, that Hezbollah is there plotting, with the drug cartels, against the US. There is indication that much of this is being funded by Iran and Sean Penn's buddy, Hugo Chavez in Argentina.
I guess the era of peace in the Western Hemisphere is about to come to a close, if we do nothing to combat terrorism on our own borders. It is time for the Obama administration to wake up and see who the real enemy is. It is not the good folks in Arizona.

More Unintended Consequences? Texas Doctors Scaling Back On Medicaid
More indication that the Democrats have no clue as to what runs the American economy or what "unintended consequences" their wacky bill will have in reality. By forcing millions onto the Medicaid rolls and not funding the States, the Federal government is forcing the states to make some tough choices. With the economy in the tubes and states already showing deficits, that they are required by law to cover, an item, Medicaid, that takes up 75% of the Texas budget, is one of the few places they can cut. Doctor reimbursement rates are in danger, and since Medicaid business is the least profitable for doctors, when it comes time for them to cut back, guess who will suffer. That's right, the poor, the ones Obama and his lackeys in Washington claim to want to help.
The whole ObamaCare bill is a fraud and designed only to consolidate more power in Washington.

Christie Exceeds Expectations - NJ Rejuvenation
I remember a blog post on Tigerhawk last year when the campaigns were just beginning, Christie showed up at at rally that only a few attended. I didn't have much hope then that Corzine would be defeated, let alone the transformation that has taken place since the election.
Christie is one of those rare politicians that do what they say. He said he would cut government and he is. He is fighting the public unions and winning. He is cutting programs and getting the Democrat legislature to go along. He is doing what many thought impossible.
Even the NY Times seems to be impressed with his accomplishments. What a topsy-turvy world this is. New Jersey Governor Defies Political Expectations

GOP: Dems wrongly linking carbon caps, oil reliance after spill
This article in The Hill, "GOP: Dems wrongly linking carbon caps, oil reliance after spill", shows the fallacy in claiming that the Kerry - Lieberman bill would restrict the demand for oil in the near future. The EPA itself has come out with a report that sees very little reduction in demand for oil until 2050, so Obama's claims are refuted by his own agency.
The bill mostly addresses electricity generation, and any carbon allocation system would increase power bills to consumers, you and me, significantly.
The proponents of this bill use the old claim that we cannot afford to buy oil from foreign countries. This is bogus since the biggest reason we are reliant on foreign sources is that environmentalists and Democrats have prevented us from becoming somewhat self sufficient by blocking all attempts to develop our oil fields, oil shale and nuclear energy.
All these bills are, are an excuse to raise more taxes to pay for their vote buying, wealth redistribution projects.

The Progression: Loss Of Stable Families - Loss Of An Education - Loss Of Job Opportunities
I ran across this comment to an article on the First Things blog.
Gordon said: "As a small business owner for the past 19 years, in the Pacific Northwest, I have been the beneficiary of good times and now the bad. But the most consistent thing I have noticed in all of these years is the steady decline in the competency of the potential employees. I personally have attributed it to the decline in the quality of public education. There is no emphasis on "Reading, writing and arithmetic". I have slowly come to the conclusion that it is more than that. Today's young, and lots of older people, have no "try". They have no clue about what it is to work your butt off, take a lot of crap from people who feel threatened when they see you do that, brush that aside, and keep on going. I began working at age 6. The adults in charge of me gave me a responsibility, expected me to complete it, and if I did not, let me know about it. It did not wound me permanently when they called me to task. They did it with forethought, care, and I think with what they considered love. I have worked every day of my life since. I am 56 years young. I may consider retirement in 10-15 years.
Peace and God Bless, and may Christ be the center of your life."
This sounded like how I was brought up to respect a hard days work. Although my first paper route, carrying for the Columbus Dispatch, was when I was 8. I do remember, at age 6, pulling my wagon full of vegetables, from my fathers "victory garden", around the block and selling them to neighbors to help my family get along.
The article Gordon was commenting on "Americans Who’ll Never Work Again", was a good analysis of the unemployment crises. But Goldman's capitulation to the tired old liberal answer of a government work project as a solution should be anathema to an admitted conservative.
An additional point of the article was that those with less education are suffering greater joblessness rates. I think it goes further back, in that those who "have no try" as Gordon says, don't "try" in school to get an education. This is a result of our welfare and education systems that have helped to destroy the American family and its influence on the children.

Whistleblower: DOJ OK's Voter Fraud to Help Dems Win Elections
The question I have is, if the DOJ selects only some laws to enforce, aren't they and the Obama Administration in contempt of Congress?

Washington Wastes $47 Billion A Year By Overpaying Government Workers
The Heritage Foundation study found that on average, after accounting for the differences in education, government versus public sector, the government pays 30% to 40% more. Yeah, but that is only because of the benefits. Nope, even the salaries are 22% higher. Add to that almost total job security and retirement at age 56 with full benefits and you get, what I would call, a pretty cushy job.
Each year, because of these "excess-payments", Washington wastes $47 billion of your tax dollars.

$500K donated to Ariz. to defend immigration law - Obama On Wrong Side Again
The American people are fed up with the anti-American positions taken by the Obama administration and are willing to contribute to Arizona's defense fund. The money is not coming from large donors. It is coming from the "common folks" that love this country and don't like the direction Washington is going.
The shame is that this money has to be wasted on fighting, basically, ourselves. After all, the Obama administration is supposed to be representing the citizens of the United States not the citizens of Mexico that are breaking our laws.
